Update on the Continental crash at Denver International Airport

Yesterday, I posted a news link about Continental Airlines flight 1404 having skidded off the runway, and catching fire. 38 people were reported injured, and some have been hospitalized. There are now questions as to why a North / South runway was used instead of an East / West runway in light of the fact that there was a strong cross wind across the North / South runway. There is some speculation that there may have been a braking problem which could have caused the airplane to slew off the runway.

The investigation continues and over the coming days, I expect we’ll hear more about this accident.
